In this article created by Joel Tarr and Clay Mcshane compares the the times from the late 19 th century and now by the change from horse into automobile.
He tells the problems with the horses at the time that where more clear to see because they brought typhoid and many other problems. They thought the car was going to fix that problem but not we realize as population increases the car is just as dirty because of the immitions it creates.
This article has told me that the change from horse to car was a necessary change because horses where just as dirty and as the population of urban area increase so will the health problems related to horses. Not only had this but ti brought better conditions to both horses and humans. This was good change into the modern world. Just look at the police horses and all the poop they make.
