GATHERING AROUND THE WORD
PRELUDE
“Our Great Savior”
Cindy Berry
INTROIT #2006
“Lord God, Almighty”
Lord God, Almighty, Savior, Redeemer,
Only true God to be worshiped and praised;
How can we tell you how much we love you?
Take now our lives, Lord, and teach us to love.
CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: O praise the Lord with me,
People: let us glorify God’s name together.
**HYMN #281
Psalm 34:3
“Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”
INVITATION TO CONFESSION
Psalm 6:1-4
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
When life becomes difficult, we doubt your presence and question your power to save. Forgive
us for our lack of faith and give us a new vision of your presence protecting us from our troubles
and our foes. Help the new vision strengthen and encourage us so that we might do your work
and proclaim your good news. Amen.
Time for Silent Reflection
DECLARATION OF PARDON
Just as you forgave the Israelites who doubted your presence then, you forgive us for failing to rely on
your power now. We can be assured of your pardon because you have shown mercy on all who trust in
you through Jesus Christ. Amen.
**PARDON RESPONSE
“O Lord, Our God, How Excellent”
O Lord our God, how excellent, how glorious is your name,
Majestic in your holiness, we sing and praise your fame.
**PASSING THE PEACE
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.
**CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE
He is Lord, He is Lord! He is risen from the dead and He is Lord.
Ev’ry knee shall bow, ev’ry tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
ANTHEM
“Grace Alone”
The New Trinity Singers
Scott Wesley Brown and Jeff Nelson
Ev’ry promise we can make, ev’ry prayer and step of faith;
Ev’ry difference we will make is only by His grace.
Ev’ry mountain we will climb, ev’ry ray of hope we shine;
Ev’ry blessing left behind is only by His grace.
Grace alone which God supplies; strength unknown He will provide,
Christ in us, our Cornerstone, we will go forth in grace alone.
Ev’ry soul we long to reach, ev’ry heart we hope to teach;
Ev’rywhere we share His peace is only by His grace.
Ev’ry loving word we say, ev’ry tear we wipe away;
Ev’ry sorrow turned to praise is only by His grace.
CHILDREN’S MOMENT
After this time, children ages 4 years through 1st grade are invited to go with the
Children’s Church Leader for their own Children’s Church in the Library;
