Half-Time October 2015 Volume 10, Issue 10 The Glory of the Lord is all around us! I hope each of you are doing well and enjoying the much cooler weather as much as I am! It is so much fun to watch the children laugh and play outside now that they can actually enjoy the playground without getting too hot. The month of October will be filled with fun experiences for your children, learning all about God’s fall gifts, including leaves, apples, pumpkins, and fall harvest time. The children will especially enjoy our annual “Treat Day” and costume parade! With the weather suddenly becoming so much cooler, please remember to bring a seasonally appropriate change of clothes to keep in your child’s cubby. You never know when an accident may occur, so we always like to be prepared! Also, make sure your child brings a jacket for the cooler temps! As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about Half-Time, please feel free to contact me at any time at 467.2552 or email at pbartlett@tcbchurch.org. Blessings, Patty Bartlett Director Welcome to TCBC! October 10th: “Halloween Hoot” Halloween Hoot 2015 is Saturday, Oct. 31 @ 1:00-3:00pm at Tuition Due Keystone, Johnson City and Cloud, Kingsport October 21st & 22nd: Jesus has not called us to just serve within the church, but to serve as if the church had no walls. We, as the church, do this in many different ways and one of those ways is through what we call Halloween Hoot. Halloween Hoot is a platform for you to meet, love on, and begin to build relationships with kids and families in their communities in hopes that Jesus might be proclaimed. We have had the privilege to do this for 4 years in the Keystone Community in Johnson City and 1 year in the Cloud Community in Kingsport! Our hope is that by doing this in two locations, we give people the opportunity to GO on mission where they live. Pumpkin Patch @Half-Time October 28th & 29th: Treat Day & Costume Parade This year, Halloween Hoot will be Sunday, October 26 th from 4:00 – 6:00pm in Keystone, Johnson City and Half-Time News Page 2 Mark Your Calendars—Half-Time Treat Day! We will have our annual “Treat Day” on Wednesday, October 28th for the Mon/Wed program and Thursday, October 29th for the Tues/Thurs program. Your children’s teachers will have sign-up sheets for things you can bring on those days. Please remember that we have several children with very serious food allergies, so please talk to your children’s teachers before bringing in any type of food product. Also, remember that anything that is brought in MUST be store-bought (NOT HOMEMADE) and contain the original packaging so we can see the ingredient list. On “Treat Day,” we are encouraging children to wear their costumes to school, provided they are not too scary, so we can have a Center-wide costume parade! Please bring a set of clothes for your child to change into after the costume parade. We have found that children who are being dropped off in the car line are losing valuable teaching time in the classroom. Since Half-Time only meets twice a week, we want to make sure your children are getting the most out of their day! If you utilize this service please arrive no later than 9:05am. Updates & Reminders! We have had a great start to chapel time with Mrs. Patty! Along with the bible story your children are learning the pledges to the Christian Flag and the Bible. We will begin music later this month as we prepare for the Christmas program. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We have almost reached our maximum occupancy! If you have friends or family interested in Half-Time, please have them contact me or Megan for more information. I would love to see our program expand in the future!
