Tutorial of STUDY GUIDE PIECES for TEST
Chapter 2.1 (What is Life?) & Chapter 2.2 (Classifying Organisms)
Directions:
Use the list below of ‘Study Guide Pieces’ Study each piece on the suggested days (You may adjust your days of study to ‘best fit’ your
schedule). Helpful hint: DON’T wait until the night before the test to study everything at once!!!! DO start your studies now, using the
suggested days posted in ‘red’ & with parentheses marks at the ending of EACH ‘Study Guide Piece’ below, and continue them EACH night to
best suit your needs!!! Go Beacons of Light! 
Study Guide Piece a = Key Terms of Chapter 2.1 – Know the definitions of the key terms for Chapter 2.1
from your T-Chart AND textbook context clues! – (1st Day/Night of Studying –Wed., 10.15.14)
Study Guide Piece b = Key Terms, Ch. 2.2 – Study the definitions, interpretations & examples from your
T-Chart – (2nd Day/Night of Studying – Thurs., 10.16.14)
Study Guide Piece c = Section Assessments Completed Work for Ch. 2.1 and 2.2. Study the work you
did, including the proofread/editing from class. – (3rd Day/Night of Studying – Fri., 10.17.14)
Study Guide Piece d = Colorful Textbook “Figures” (pictures) & the matching captions of ch.2.1 AND
2.2 (words, phrases, sentences) to those figures! It’s very helpful to do this piece, as pictures are known
to explain a ‘thousand words’!!  (4th Day/Night of Studying – Sat., 10.18.14 OR Sun., 10.19.14)
Study Guide Piece e = “Guided Reading & Study” (GRS) Chapter 2.2, “CLASSIFYING ORGANISMS”
Document = Student GRS Notes (and…your cross-referenced 2.2 Teacher Notes/ Answer Key from my
website) (5th Day/Night of Studying – Mon., 10.20.14)

Study Guide Piece f = “Scientific Classification of Animals” sheet…..
IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND AND STUDY!
(By this day, you will have already read and highlighted, AND
discussed with editions, a data chart relating the levels of organization to the characteristics of organisms during
class, and now you need to re-read and study the chart again!) Happy data-reading and re-thinking about
