Program-Level Outcomes Areas

Program-Level Outcome Area 1: Demonstrate foundational competence in the biomedical science, pharmaceutical science, social and administrative science, and clinical science necessary to provide patientcentered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

A graduate from our professional program should be knowledgeable and competent in the foundational science required to deliver effective patient and population based care.

1.1

Demonstrate the ability to apply the principles of biomedical science to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

1.2

Demonstrate the ability to apply the principles of pharmaceutical science to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

1.3

Demonstrate the ability to apply the principles of Social and Administrative

Science to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level

PharmD.

1.4

Demonstrate the ability to apply the principles of Clinical Science to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

Program-Level Outcome Area 2: Demonstrate the ability to provide patient-centered care.

Demonstrate the ability to provide patient specific care in cooperation with patients, prescribers, and other members of an inter-professional health care team based upon sound therapeutic principles and evidence-based data, taking into account relevant legal, ethical, social, economic, and professional issues, emerging technologies, and evolving pharmaceutical, biomedical, socio-behavioral, and clinical sciences that may impact therapeutic outcomes at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

2.1 Demonstrate the ability to gather and organize patient information to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

2.2 Demonstrate the ability to analyze patient-specific information to provide patientcentered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

2.3 Demonstrate the ability to design, implement, monitor, evaluate and adjust patient-specific, evidence-based care plans to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

Program-Level Outcome Area 3: Demonstrate the ability to provide

Population-based care.

Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement population-specific, evidence-based health improvement, wellness, and disease management programs and protocols based upon analysis of epidemiologic and pharmacoeconomic data, medication use criteria, medication use review, and risk reduction strategies at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

3.1 Demonstrate the ability to analyze epidemiologic and pharmacoeconomic data, medication-use criteria, medication use reviews, and risk-reduction strategies at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

3.2 Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement health improvement, wellness, disease prevention and disease management programs and protocols at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

3.3 Demonstrate the ability to evaluate and refine programs and protocols over time to improve outcomes at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

3.4 Demonstrate the ability to promote health improvement, wellness, and disease prevention in cooperation with patients, communities, at-risk populations, and other members of an interprofessional team of health care providers at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD

Program-Level Outcome Area 4: Demonstrate the ability to manage and use resources effectively.

Demonstrate the ability to manage and use resources of the health care system, in cooperation with patients, prescribers, and others to promote health; to provide, assess, and coordinate safe, accurate, and time-sensitive medication distribution; and to improve therapeutic outcomes of medication use at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

4.1 Demonstrate the ability to ensure efficient, cost-effective use of resources to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

4.2 Demonstrate the ability to apply patient- and population-specific data, quality improvement strategies, medication safety and error reduction programs, and research processes to minimize drug misadventure and optimize patient outcomes at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

4.3 Demonstrate the ability to apply to educate stakeholders on the impact of drug use and health policy initiatives or pharmacy benefit design changes at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

4.4 Demonstrate the ability to use the appropriate business skills to create valuable products and services in the marketplace at a level appropriate for an entry level

Program-Level Outcome Area 5: Demonstrate the ability to employ critical thinking in the process of problem solving.

Demonstrate the ability to think critically, exercise professional judgment, articulate a decision and defend a decision made in a problem solving process at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

Program-Level Outcome Area 7: Demonstrate the ability to use and manage information.

Demonstrate the ability to gather, analyze, interpret and make sound decisions using the information available from patient histories, patient communications, medical records and the professional, lay, and scientific literature to provide patient-centered at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.

7.1 Demonstrate the ability to gather information from appropriate resources to provide patient-centered care at a level appropriate for an entry level PharmD.
