Denise Dewar In October 2007, Denise Dewar joined CropLife International as Executive Director of Plant Biotechnology. CropLife International is the global federation representing the plant science industry, addressing international developments in the areas of crop protection, agriculture biotechnology and sustainable agriculture. Denise is responsible for directing the global plant biotechnology team for CropLife International and developing strategy and direction as it relates to advocacy, regulatory affairs, communications and stewardship. Denise previously worked with CropLife Canada as Vice President and Executive Director of Plant Biotechnology. Denise was responsible for government affairs, regulatory science, communications and stewardship of plant biotechnology. In her role as Vice President, she served as part of the senior management team, was responsible for stakeholder liaison both nationally and internationally and was external spokesperson for the association. Denise holds a Masters Degree in Crop Science and an Honours Degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Guelph, as well as a Degree in Biology from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to joining CropLife, she was Regulatory Affairs Specialist with AgrEvo Canada (Bayer) where she was a technical resource on the regulatory science aspects of plant biotechnology and pesticide products. Her responsibilities included evaluating and responding to regulations and reports from government and research agencies, and the development of submissions. Denise is based in Washington, D.C.
