PUPIL NOTICES Tuesday 25th August 2015 ALL Offshore Europe If you are interested in pursuing a career in Engineering and want to find out more, come to Offshore Europe. There are 3 days available, one for ages 13-14, and two for ages 15-17. You will find out more about the pathways into the industry, speak to professionals and training centres, and have an opportunity to hand in your CV for next year’s apprenticeship openings. Miss Loudon (Technical) ALL Pupil Working Groups This session, in place of our traditional Pupil Council, all pupils have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of Working Groups which will drive forward change within the school. Each working group will be supervised by at least one member of staff as well as Prefects. This is an excellent way to meet other pupils and staff, have your say in how the school is run and improve your own skills and qualities like teamwork and confidence. There is no limit to the number of pupils involved. So far, the proposed working groups are as follows: Eco Schools Interhouse Challenges Fundraising Raising Attainment Peer Support Fair Trade Rights Respecting Schools Meetings will be arranged at the start of September, so listen out for the notices and get involved! Miss Grant (Creative Arts) ALL London Trip Could the pupils who attended the London Trip and have not yet collected a £10 refund from Miss Grant please do so ASAP. Miss Grant (Creative Arts) S1 – S3 Singsation! Do you like singing? Do you like moving to the beat? Do you want to meet new people? If the answer is yes to any of these questions then ‘Singsation!’ could be for you. Vocal Group for S1-S3, every Tuesday from 1.25pm – 1.55pm in Music Room 1. Mrs Pert (Creative Arts) S5 Leadership Event S5 Pupils are invited to register their interest in attending a residential Senior Leadership Event along with pupils from other Academies in Aberdeenshire. The event will include a focus on leadership, communication, community and goal setting. The delivery methods will include Outdoor Learning and Adventure Education. The pupils involved will stay in the historic Mar Lodge at the Cairngorms National Park. This is an amazing opportunity for four pupils from S5. The event takes place from the 21st to 23rd September. Transport is provided and there is no cost to pupils. Please see Mrs Milne by the end of the day on Friday to register your interest. A selection process will follow. (This is Monday periods 1 and 2, Wednesday period 6 and Thursday periods 3 and 4). Any pupil interested should come and see Mr Morrison for information. Mr Morrison (Depute Head Teacher) S5 – S6 Prefect Opportunity Since the start of the new term, a few of our prefects have moved on from school leaving some vacancies for Prefects. Please see Mrs Milne for an application form before the end of the day on Wednesday 26th August. The deadline for applications is Friday 28th August.
