Summer Assignment AP Studio Art 3-D 1. “The essence of existing in 3-D” A non-representational sculpture (or series of sculptures) that address what it is to exist in 3 dimensions. A strong consideration of how Form interacts with Space must be considered. For the most part color, unless used to emphasize the form in a direct way, is not the major concern. All media that is at the artists disposal is open for their use. You will be assessed on your ability to think conceptually about how a work of 3 dimensional art exists in space, manipulates the space it is found in and your ability to refine a form into a finished work of art. Document your exploration with many photos (cell phone based is fine) and keep sketches and notations about your ideas throughout its creation. 2. “all for 1 and 1 for all” Utilizing only 1 type of object, in as many numbers as you see fit, create a sculpture. For example, you could create a dress using only bubble gum wrappers or a place setting (plate, cup, fork, knife and spoon) out of hair trimmings. You may create an armature so that it fills up needed space and use any adhesives you need, but the final artwork must appear to be made completely of your 1 multiplied object. Please refer to your Padlet for due dates of uploads. Also, keep an eye out for REMIND 101 letters to keep you up to date on expectations.
