To control blast in transplanted rice spray Hinosan @ 200 ml/ac or tricyclazole @ 200g/ac. A
prophylactic spray of Pseudomonas talc powder formulation @ 500 g/ac in 200 litres of water during
late evening hours will avoid the incident of blast.
To control rice stem borer spray CartapHydrochloride 50 % SP @ 400g/ac or Phosphamidon 40% SL 500
ml/ac.
To prevent early shedding of buds and squares in cotton spray 40 ppm NAA (40 mg of Naphthalene
Acetic Acid in one litre of water) at 60 and 90 DAS on the crops.
Nipping may be done at 15th node for variety and 20th node for hybrid cotton to induce sympodial
branches development.
To rectify Magnesium deficiency in cotton foliar spray of 1% Magnesium Sulphate may be done.
To control mealy bug in cotton spray Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 100 g/ha or Dimethoate 30 EC
2 ml /litre.
Puducherry
Treat the paddy seeds with Three packets (600 g/ha) of Azospirillum and 3 packets (600g/ha) of
Phosphobacteria or 6 packets (1200g/ha) of Azophos.
To control leaf folder in rice, avoid excessive nitrogenous fertilizers. Release Trichogramma chilonis @5
cc (1,00,000/ha) thrice at 37, 44 and 51 days or Spray NSKE 5 % or Azadirachtin 0.03% 1000 ml/ha or
Thiamethoxam 25% WG 100 kg/ha.
In sugarcane, a seed rate of 75000 two-budded setts/ha is sufficient. Setts should be soaked in 100 litres
of water dissolved with 50g Carbendazim, 200 ml malathion and 1 kg urea for 15 minutes.
Treat setts with Aerated steam at 50°C for one hour to control primary infection of grassy shoot disease.

Livestock:
1. Light rainfall is expected from 10.07.2015 to 12.07.2015.
2. Farmers are advised to sprinkle water between 11 am to 4 pm to high yielding diary cows and
buffaloes 2 or 3 time to reduce heat stress.
3. Due to increase in day temperature animals should not be allowed for grazing during hot part of
the day, provide cool drinking water and shade to the animals to reduce heat stress.
4. Feeders should be raised in poultry shed between 10 am to 5 pm; provide mineral mixture and
B-complex vitamins in drinking water to avoid heat stroke.
5. Sheep, goats and young calves should be dewormed by using suitable anthelmintics.
6. Repeat breeder will be supplemented with 50 grams of mineral mixture and high protein diet
daily to improve the conception rate.
Agriculture :Imp.Crops: Rice, Sugarcane and Groundnut
Rain-fed Groundnut crops: Flowering Stage.
1. In the sugarcane crops spray potash and urea each at 2.5% level during moisture stress (water
shortage) period at 15days interval.
2. Drip irrigation can be followed to reduce the water shortage .
3. The root zone of horticulture crops are covered with coir pith to conserve moisture.
4. Incidence of pod borer, shoot and leaf webber is being noticed in summer sesame due to the
prevailing hot weather condition. To control this, spray Quinolphos 25 EC at 400 ml/acre or Neem oil
2%.
5. Stem borer incidence is noticed in paddy crop. Hence farmers are advised to spray any one of the
following Monocrotophos 36 SL 1000ml/ha (or) Quinalphos 25 EC1000 ml/ha (or) Phosphamidon 40 SL
600 ml/ha (or) Profenophos 50 EC 1000 ml/ha.

Since light rainfall is expected based on crop stage and soil moisture irrigation can be planned.
Since there is forecast of light rainfall, better to delay the harvesting of matured crops.
Farmers are advised for preparation of nursery for chilli and brinjal. It is also advised to use shed nets,
which helps in reducing soil borne disease and thus produce healthy seedling.
To control mealybuy in cotton spray Thiamethoxam 25WG @ 100g/ha or Dimethoate 30EC @ 2ml/litre.
To control rice stem borer spray Phosphamidon 40%SL 500ml/ac.

During this weather conditions when farm operations are less, farmers are advised to test their soil from
certified agencies.
Farmers are advised for preparation of nursery for chilli and brinjal. It is also advised to use shed nets,
which helps in reducing soil borne disease and thus produce healthy seedling.
To control root rot disease in cotton, drench the soil with carbendazim @ 1g per litre or Trifloxystrobin +
Tebuconazole @ 0.75 g per litre at the base of the diseased plants as well as around the healthy plants
so as to wet 10-15cm depth of soil.
To control rice stem borer spray Phosphamidon 40%SL 500ml/ac.
Nilgiris
Expecting light showers in some of the places for next five days.
Farmers are advised to irrigate the crop based upon crop requirement.
To manage blister blight in tea, spray 3% Dasakavya or Propiconazole
( tilt) @ 50 ml + Copper Oxy Chloride (COC) @ 84g / ac
Namakkal , Salem & Dharmapuri
1. For next three days, the sky will be slightly cloudy with chance of isolated rainfall. Maximum
and minimum temperature will be around 37.0C (98.6F) and 26.0C (78.8F) respectively.
Wind speed will be around 8 km/hour, mostly from southwest direction. Relative humidity will
be in the range of 36-68 %.
2. Prevailing high day and night temperatures likely to be continued in the upcoming days.
However, expected cloudiness and elevated wind speed reduce the duration of high temperatures
which will bring some relief over last week. Continue summer management in poultry. Due to
lower feed intake, egg production will remain fluctuating from the normal level. Drinking water
management, mycotoxin fee feed and addition of stress alleviating medicines in the feed are the
key measures to sustain egg production.
A) Special Agroadvisory from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namakkal:
3. Interested farmers can prepare land for groundnut cultivation. Basal dressing with gypsum at the
rate of 80 kg/acre along with enriched farm yard manure can be done.

Sesame: Maturity and Harvest stage, Rice: Kuruvai Field preparation & Transplanting
In rice cultivation application of 200 kg gypsum and 125 kg super phosphate per acre as basal
application during main field preparation is essential. If the soil is low in nitrogen status, apply 35 kg
urea per acre as basal.
In kuruvai season 18 to 22 days of old young seedling roots may be dipped in biofertilizers slurry (1 kg
each of Azosirillum and phosphobacteria or 1 kg of Azophos) for 15 to 30 minutes before transplanting
with a spacing of 20 x 10 cm. In SRI, 14 days old seedlings can be transplanted in 25x25 cm spacing using
SRI marker.
In kuruvai paddy, apply butachlor at 1.0 lit/ac or Bensulfuron methy 0.6% + pretilachlor 6% 4kg/acre
mixed with 20 kgs sand and broadcast uniformly by keeping thin film of water on 3-5 DAT. Don’t drain
the water in herbicide applied field.

Imp. Crops: Sugarcane, Banana, Maize and Groundnut
Raising of green manure crops like daincha, sunnhemp and kolangi can be done to utilize the summer
rainfall.
