Sixth Sunday of Easter Brothers and sisters, as we move toward the end of the Easter season, our liturgies begin to turn from reflection on Jesus’ resurrection to our mission as baptized followers of Christ. This Sunday is the pivot for that move. The message of today’s celebration could not be clearer. The word “love” appears in the second reading and Gospel today eighteen times, especially appropriate on this Mother’s Day. As we continue our celebration today, let us be mindful of God’s great love for us, and also of the love that we must show to those around us.
