Stunning colt for broodmare legend Lammerskraal Stud’s resident broodmare Nacarat is well and truly established as an outstanding producer. The daughter of former Horse Of The Year Pas De Quoi has proved a resounding success, with her progeny excelling both on the racetrack and in the sales ring. To date, Nacarat, herself a four time winner from 1200-1400m, has produced ten foals to race, of which nine have won. Remarkably, half of Nacarat’s winners are black type performers, and to date, Nacarat’s offspring have earned more than R3.2 million in stakes –and counting! Nacarat’s top performers include G1 Thekwini Stakes winner Nania, multiple stakes winner Adobe Pink, G3 Prix Du Cap runner up Vermilion, G3 Cape Classic Red Ray (who has been placed in four G1 races to date), Listed East Cape Oaks winner Valor Red, and millionaire Brutal Force. The latter, who runs in a pinnacle plate at Turffontein this Tuesday evening, won the 2015 Cape Thoroughbred Sales race and ran second in the Lanzerac Ready To Run Stakes that same season. Brutal Force also set a new South African record when he was bought back for R4.5 million at the 2013 CTS Ready To Run Sale. Another son, Target Acquired, fetched R2.1 million at the 2007 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale (he was the joint fourth top lot sold at that sale). Nacarat’s legacy in the sales ring could well continue further this month –she has a Western Winter colt, named Bishop’s Bounty, on offer. Catalogued as lot 65, this colt will be offered on behalf of Normandy Stud as Agent. Nacarat’s latest foal, by multiple Equus Champion What A Winter, is this lovely colt –a three parts brother to Nania, Red Ray, Brutal Force, Vermilion and Valor Red. He looks to have all the credentials to follow in his siblings footsteps –and Lammerskraal should have plenty to look forward to with this lovely colt.
