Response to Customers’ Inquiries about the Roll Cart Rental Increase:
Effective April 1, 2012 roll cart rental for all sizes of refuse roll carts is increasing from $2.00 to
$2.55. The monthly rental fee provides you a safe, convenient roll cart that is compatible with
Alaska Waste trucks. Any damage to the roll cart or product failure created by our harsh
environment is covered within this fee, and we will simply exchange the cart at no cost to you
should something break.
Over the past few years Alaska Waste has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by
expanding our curbside recycling program to be available to over 40,000 homes in Anchorage
and Eagle River. The April 1st $5 per ton increase to the disposal fee at the Municipality of
Anchorage Landfill and Central Transfer Station has encouraged us to remind our customers
that they have convenient curbside recycling service option. As costs continue to increase
recycling becomes more viable as the savings in the disposal offset the cost of service.
Curbside recycling service is available in your area for $9.68 per month and this includes use of
the roll cart.
