”Villmarksveien” (The Wilderness Road)
For this trip you will need “the whole day”.
Drive FV78 to Mosjøen,
then E6 south (towards Trondheim).
At Trofors, make a left turn
and drive along FV73 towards Hattfjelldal.
Just before Hattfjelldal,
make a left turn on to ”Villmarksveien”
First stop is at Laksforsen kafè,
approx..30 km after Mosjøen.
The road runs along
Røssvatnet in a ever changing
terrain.
....lots of possibilities for a coffee break along the way.
Røssvatnet is well known because it`s a
regulated lake. Take a look at the
enormous dam built by the state power
company.
Bleikvassli is a mining community. Unfortunately the mine is now closed, due to flooding. The people that
live here hope that one-day the mine will open again.
Just before you arrive in Korgen, you drive over a new bridge.
Take a look at the old bridge that was built in 1905!!
When you arrive in Korgen you have two possibilities
for your trip back to Sjøbakken. We drove south over
Korgen Mountain.
But you can drive to Mo i Rana, continue over Sjon-fjellet
to Nesna, and then take the ferry to Levang.
