NATURE ARTS FESTIVAL: ONE GREAT DAY!
24TH ANNUAL EVENT ADDS FARMERS' MARKET, FOOD TRUCKS
Something for everybody – for any nature lover, for any art lover. Geauga Park District’s Nature
Arts Festival is known for every variety of fine arts on display and for sale by regional artists. Every
member of the family, every friend leaves refreshed and inspired in some way.
Come out to Geauga County for the 24th annual Nature Arts Festival on Sunday, August 2,
from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The West Woods!
The show has something to pique anyone’s interest. Looking for a unique gift? Then be certain to
stop by (insert name here) tent to see exclusive pieces such as (insert description of work being offered).
(Insert name here) of (insert hometown) can be reached for more on the festival and their work at (insert
phone number).
On top of fine arts on display and for sale by regional artists, festival-goers will enjoy free
admission, parking and live music, a new local farmer's market component, family make-n-take projects
and entertainment, the 20th Annual Nature Writing Contest celebration and open mic, chalk art, face
painting, balloon and origami artists, a variety of food for sale (including food trucks!), and much more.
Another special feature is most likely heard by festival-goers before they see it: watch sparks fly as
blacksmiths from the Western Reserve Artist Blacksmith Association hammer away during live demos,
forging works of art before your very eyes!
"The Nature Arts Festival continues to be one of the area's finest shows for Nature-inspired
artwork," said Teresa Runion, special events coordinator at the Park District. "A selection of
extraordinary artwork, this year combined with expanded entertainment, offers the perfect opportunity to
celebrate the arts and find those perfect pieces, all within the beautiful West Woods."
Visitors will also have the option of making Geauga County their arts destination for the day, as
Chardon Square Association's 35th Annual Chardon Arts Festival happens simultaneously on Historic
Chardon Square, a mere 25 minute drive from the Nature Arts Festival. Make it a day!
This year's Nature Arts Festival is sponsored by The News-Herald and Renewal by Andersen
Windows. The West Woods, a 900-acre park with miles of hiking trails, is at 9465 Kinsman Road (Rt. 87).
The festival is entirely wheelchair/stroller accessible. As needed, a free shuttle will run from ASM at 9639
Kinsman Road. Visit http://bit.ly/gpdspecial for a complete schedule of events when it becomes available.
Please call Teresa Runion at 440-279-0882 with questions about the Park District festival, or call
Mariann Goodwin at 440-285-8686 with questions about the Chardon festival.
