RAGLAN CONSERVATION AREA Raglan is a large conservation area encompassing the whole historic settlement and extending across the A40 to include the magnificent Raglan Castle and its setting. At the heart of the conservation area is the medieval Parish Church of St Cadoc and Beaufort Square beside the prominent coaching inn. Castle Street retains good 19th century terraced housing and the High Street leading up to Crown Square has varied historic character with rendered elevations and small-pane sash windows. This conservation area was designated in 1976 and this appraisal has identified five distinct character areas. We recommend accepting the consultants appraisal and would welcome your views on the proposals.
