Role Description:

Provides technical expertise and leadership in the application of genomic technologies in dairy production systems. Provides technical input and review for local business strategy, new product development, and development of value propositions for commercialized technologies. Works extensively with other technical services colleagues, sales and marketing colleagues, dairy producers, and stakeholder groups to ensure proper positioning and support of genomic technologies. Serves as a resource to translate complexities of genomic technologies into clear understanding of practical applications and impacts for colleagues and customers. Provides technical sales support to sales colleagues and their customers in support of the Cattle and Equine Business Unit.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical expertise and support of genomics technology and products to the sales, marketing and technical service groups.

Promote and ensure the technical understanding of Zoetis’ genetic products and services to key customers and stakeholders, both directly, and as needed and in support of technical service teams.

Collaborate with global Zoetis Genetics leadership, VMRD, and operations to identify and prioritize new genetics products and services for the US market.

Work with US and global resources to ensure Zoetis Genetics products and services exceed customer expectations.

Provide educational support for internal and external stakeholders as it relates to the use of genomic technologies generally, and Zoetis products specifically, in dairy production.

Contribute to the development and distribution of decision support aids that help producers implement genomic data and understand the associated economic benefits

Provide consulting services as appropriate / needed to customers and external partners to drive greater understanding and adoption of genomic solutions.

Analyze herd and genomic data to aid in technical sales support, applied research, and troubleshooting to promote/sustain adoption and integration of genomic technologies in commercial dairy production.

Contribute to development and implementation of strategies to support continued growth of the genetics portfolio within the Cattle & Equine Business Unit.

Job Description

Liaise with relevant key opinion leaders in industry and academia to help ensure Zoetis

Genetics and its commercial partners are in a position to deliver leading genomic technologies to dairy producers.

Ensure development of clear customer value propositions for each genomic product and ensure that customer demonstration projects / modeling are in place for all key products / platforms.

Qualifications:

MS or PhD (preferred) in Animal Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Molecular Biology, Animal

Science, or similar field of study. DVM desirable, but not required.

Proficient knowledge in dairy cattle production systems

Ability to manage multiple and complex functions

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

Proven track record of performance

Strong commitment to customer satisfaction

Thorough understanding of the use of information, including genomic data, to support genetic improvement strategies in contemporary dairy cattle production. Experience in genetic evaluation systems preferred.

Experience working with livestock producers and stakeholder organizations. Relevant established professional networks preferred.

Experience in commercial application of genomic technologies and technological adoption preferred.

Ability to travel, at times extensively, in support of business and customer needs
