Cattle Call 2015 ZOETIS ANNOUNCES THE 2015 CATTLE CALL TO AWARD UP TO $150,000 IN GRANT FUNDING We are interested in novel approaches to: Develop statistical models that would allow us to estimate the impact of rumen function and nutrient utilization changes (e.g., reduction in methane production, change in fatty acid ratio, increase in propionic acid production) on key cattle performance metrics (e.g., average daily gain, feed conversion, milk production) Milk Production: identify relevant pathways/mechanisms, molecular targets and/or lead candidates for pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical intervention for the stimulation of the growth, development, maturation or regeneration of mammary gland tissue. More than one grant may be funded; minimum funding will be $25,000. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Principal Investigators must be in good standing of their professional organization (AABP, ADSA, CVMA etc) and research must be conducted at a facility in the United States or Canada. Applications should be no more than 8 pages in length. Proposals to be submitted to cattlecall@zoetis.com by April 30, 2015. SELECTION CRITERIA Points . NOTIFICATION OF AWARD Candidates will be notified of the committee’s decision by May 29, 2015 TERMS Funding for winning proposal will be subject to execution of a research agreement and all local and federal laws, including applicable anti-bribery statutes. Payments will be determined at time of selection based on scope of work. Zoetis will have exclusive option to commercialize opportunity. This assessment is completed by the Zoetis animal risk assessment team to assure that the project and the facility where project will take place meets the Zoetis Corporate Policy on Animal Care and Use (CP 109) The assessment must be completed after the successful project has been identified and prior to the start of the project and funds have been distributed.
