Groom of the Show
Clifford (Zara)
Clifford was excellent. His horses were well looked after, his stables
and yard clean, his organization of tack etc was excellent. He was
always well prepared, and his manner with the horses calm and
efficient. Well done to him and his team (Rogers)
Best organization of a team
William ( Rachel)
William is an excellent organizer. We were so impressed with his
ability to get horses/ponies ready on time, know which tack to put on
(out of 32 bridles) for which class, in addition to making sure all
horses/ponies were kept watered and fed. William is personable and
has a good way of working with his colleagues.
Best turned out
1st Charles ( Lisa Jaegnert )- Journey to Justice
He really did a super job, with horse beautifully turned out and
correctly tacked up with boots etc. Stables and yard well kept and
horses well attended to, little details such us turning up O/R boots
make the difference!
2nd Mathew (Jen Miller) – Brie
Did an excellent job of turnout, horse was in beautiful condition, he
lead the horse in a relaxed and confident manner. Little details such
as bringing in a wipe to clean the froth of the bit gets marks! Mathew
also was most knowledgeable about horse health.
2nd Mathew ( Jen Miller ) – Peter Pan
Also did an excellent job of turnout, he had a nice way of handling
and leading the horse. Tack was clean etc and horse in nice condition.
Mathews made the effort to also present himself and looked proud to
be with his horse. He also responded to the occasion and tried to
improve over the days!
3rd Clifford ( Zara) – Clifford
Excellent – just to remember little details such as underneath the
saddle flaps, pull down buckle guards etc
We decided to give other little awards. The grooms really are the
show behind the scenes and they made such an effort to pay
attention to their horses and yards over the show days, paying heed
to any suggestions
Groom which showed most responsibility for the care of their
equipment (tack, trailer etc) and horses – Michael (Hannah)
Best kept yard – Bonniface and Thompson ( Julie M)
Collecting ring safety/management – Bonniface and Edgar ( Daphne )
Showed arena manners, they held their horses out of the collecting
ring during waiting, they were empathetic with their horses when
the guns went off, above all they were aware of safety!
Groom – best at plaiting! John (Ceri)
Eddie/John – for being most attentive to their horses, they were
never left out of their sight!
Si ( Rachel) for stewardship! Impressive with his ability to think on
his feet and keep a friendly face. Nice way of handling the horses
