Vocabulary – 25 pts (Multiple Choice)
Nouns: First and Second Declension – 13 pts
a. Usage of Cases: You are given 7 English sentences. In each, a noun or
phrase is underlined. Tell whether that noun or phrase, in Latin, would be
in the Nominative, Accusative, or Ablative case. Know which case is
used for a subject, direct object, predicate noun (complement), or object of
a preposition. (7 pts)
b. Noun Cases: Nominative and Accusative: You are given 6 Latin
sentences. In 3 you must identify the subject; in 3, the direct object. (6 pts)
Verbs: Present Tense – 20 pts
a. Agreement. Same format as Worksheet III.2: Verbs – Agreement with the
Subject. You are given a Latin sentence with the verb in infinitive form.
Write the form of the verb that agrees with the subject of the sentence. (10
pts)
i. Example: Egō Latīnam [amāre]. Amō (agrees with the subject
Ego)
ii. You need to know the subject pronouns (ego, tu, is, ea, id, nos,
vos, ei, eae, ea) and which Latin verb ending (o, s, t, mus, tis,
nt) agrees with each subject.
b. Number. Same format as Worksheet III.1: Verbs – Number. Given a
singular verb, change it to plural; given a plural verb, change it to singular.

Syntax (Sentences) – 10 pts
a. You are given ten Latin sentences and a list of English translations. Match
each Latin sentence to its English translation. Make sure you use CASES
to identify what noun is the subject, direct object, and/or object of a
preposition in each sentence so you don’t pick a similar, but wrong,
translation from the list!
Roman Numerals – 10 pts
a. Match each Roman numeral to the Arabic numeral it equals.
Geography – 10 pts
