Congratulations to McKinley who have won the House Points total for this term, as a result, they can
come into school next Thursday in their own clothes.
PTA Christmas Fayre
Thank you to everyone that helped organise the Christmas Fayre last Saturday. The PTA and class
reps laid on a fantastic selection of stalls, and those who attended clearly enjoyed themselves and
left laden with “goodies”.
KS1 Nativity Performances – “It’s a Baby”
A wonderful time was had by all this week when KS1 and Reception gave three outstanding
performances of this year's Christmas Nativity Play. What a joy it was to see the sparkling dancing
Angels, the Shepherds, the stable animals and the Three Wise Men once again as well as the star
of the show, The Baby Jesus and his family. The children all sang their hearts out in celebration of
this very special time of year
KS2 Carol Service
A reminder that Parents and siblings are invited to the KS2 Carol Service on Tuesday 15 December
at 6.30pm at St. Nicholas’ Church. Please could all KS2 children arrive in uniform at the Church at
6.15pm at the latest. If the children wish to do so, they can wear a red hat/Father Christmas hat.
Congratulations
Our congratulations to Mrs Laura Rogan and to Mrs Madeleine Busvine on passing their final
teaching practice. Mrs Busvine has been employed as an HLTA during her training, and Mrs Rogan
has been volunteering in school – we are delighted and very proud of them both.
Year 2 Going Global
Thank you to all of the parents who helped Year 2 with their Going Global journey this afternoon.
The children visited Guernsey, Germany,South Africa, Mauritius, Burma, Australia and the USA.
The children gained a greater understanding of both culture and traditions in these countries, and a
lot of fun was had by all!
Last week of term and First week of Term 3
A reminder that the last day of term is Thursday, 17 December. On Wednesday 16 December the
school will be enjoying Christmas lunch. The children are welcome, on that day, to wear a festive
hat or a Christmas jumper. On Thursday, the children will be enjoying a Christmas Pantomime
produced by The Flying Pizza Company. The first day back of Term 3 is Monday 4 January, and
swimming will start for Years 3, 4 and 6 on Thursday of that week.
Breakfast and After School Club
We have spaces in our Breakfast and After School Club. Breakfast Club runs from 8am and
children are provided with a selection of food including fruit, cereal and toast. After School Club
runs from 3.30pm until 6.00pm and children are provided with a hot meal. If you would like to book
any sessions from January, please complete and return a booking form by the end of term. More
information can be found on the website.
Hamptons International Snoopy Colouring Competition
Cedar class (year 5) took part in a competition organised by Hamptons Estate Agents, coinciding
with the release of the new Snoopy film. Each child was given a blank 'snoopy kennel' to take home
and decorate and as you can see, they have done a fantastic job! The kennels were placed in the
windows of Hamptons for the public to vote for their favourite. The winner will be announced in this
week's celebration assembly. Well done Cedar class.
KS1 Open Classrooms
A reminder that we look forward to welcoming KS1 parents (Acorn, Chestnut, Lilac, Willow, Maple

Reception Admissions September 2016
If your child is due to start school in September 2016, you will need to make your application online
at http://www.kent.gov.uk/ola from 10 November 2015. Applications close on 15 January 2016. You
will also need to read through Lady Boswell's Admissions Policy for 2016/17, which can be found on
the school website under ‘about us’ ‘admissions’ as this has changed slightly and it is important that
you apply under the correct criteria when completing your Supplementary Form. Even if you are
applying under 'Sibling' criteria you still need to complete a Supplementary Form which will need to
be submitted to the School Office by 15 January 2016.
Book Amnesty
Next week the school is holding another book amnesty. There will be boxes in the school reception
area, so please bring any school library books back to school and leave them in reception. Any
missing books will be charged at replacement value.
Safety at School Gates
Would the owner of a white Nissan Micra, registration M852 PHD, please refrain from parking on the
yellow zig zags outside school as this is endangering the lives of parents, children and our
staff. Thank you.
