End of Summer Term Events
Outlined below are details of our events taking place during the next few weeks. All parents, family
and friends of all Early Years children (Nursery and Reception) are warmly invited to these events.
Friday 20 June
Exeat
Nursery session ends at 2.30pm, no after school care. Reception collection at 1.30pm.

Reception pupils: please make an appointment via the notice on classroom door that will be
displayed from Monday 16 June. Alternatively email Julie to make an appointment. Your child's end
of Early Years Foundation Profile (EYFSP) will be discussed at this meeting in line with the statutory

'Fab Friday' 27 June
Sports Morning & Parents Lunch
Please can Nursery and Reception pupils children arrive at school in PE kits/shorts, t-shirt and
trainers/ pumps. Nursery pupils who do not attend the Friday morning session should arrive at the
Early Years for 10.00am. Refreshments will be served from 10.15am. Please RSVP to Sian if you

Giggleswick School Parents’ Association Afternoon Tea Party 4pm
All parents are welcome to this event before the evening Junior School Concert. This will be held on
Papes.
Junior School Summer Concert 6.00pm Junior School Pavilion
Reception pupils will be taking part in this event and should be at the Pavilion at 5.45pm.
Tuesday 1 July
Le Petit Depart/Tour De Giggleswick with Christian Prudhomme and Bernard Hinault!
Nursery – Y2 Pupils
We are keen to celebrate Yorkshire's Grand Depart 2014 with our own mini version of the world
famous bike race and have added this event to our calendar. We are thrilled to welcome the
Director of the Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme, and Bernard Hinault (iconic TDF cyclist) to
watch our Petit Depart!
Children are asked to wear something yellow and bring their bike/scooter/tricycle etc (and
appropriate safety equipment) to school for a 'race' around Papes – or just walk!
This will be a morning activity. Nursery children who do not normally attend this session are very
welcome to come along and take part or line the route. Details of timings will be available soon.
Refreshments will be served afterwards for everyone to enjoy. Don't forget, wear something yellow
so we can all be winners!
Wednesday 2 July
Early Years Summer Concert (Nursery & Reception)
We are looking forward to another super summer concert! Refreshments are served from 1.30pm
and the performance starts at 2pm.
Children who do not attend this session are asked to arrive at Early Years by 1.15pm.
Friday 4 July
Junior School Speech Day
Reception pupils will be involved and will attend the chapel service and Prize Giving as a class with
Mrs Middleton. Collection of Reception children will be from the Pavilion at 12.15pm following Prize
Giving.
End of Term
Nursery closes at 11.30am. A care facility will be offered to younger siblings (Junior School Nursery
pupils) of children in the Junior School who will be attending Prize Giving until 12.15pm. Please let
Julie know if you wish to use this facility (jamiddleton@giggleswick.org.uk)
End of Term Reports
Parents of Reception pupils will receive a written report at the end of the Summer Term. Please
complete the attached slip acknowledging receipt of your child's report and return to school.
Weekly Coffee Morning
Please pop in for coffee each Thursday morning in the Hobson Room 8.15am-9.15am.
Kit Request
Please could we ask that all children have trainers/pumps in school in order to prepare for Sports
and enjoy the outdoors.
We hope you can join us for our Summer events and enjoy with us this fun time of the school year.
