Boys Town Announces Parenting Book Club BOYS TOWN, Neb. – Boys Town announced today a book club for parents to help with parenting strategies. Starting July 10, 2013 and running through Aug. 21, 2013, parents with children ages 515 can meet at the Bellevue Welcome Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to talk with other parents, receive award-winning parenting books and discuss strategies, tips and tools with a parenting expert and author. Topics to be covered include: Raising Toddlers – July, 10 Bedtime Problems – July, 17 Handling When Daughters Date – July, 24 Raising Children with ADHD– July, 31 10 “Laws” for Raising Happy, Well-behaved Children – Aug. 7 Bullying – Aug. 14 Dealing with Children’s Anger – Aug. 21 “Parenting strategies help to increase positive behavior, lessen misbehavior and create opportunities to learn alternative skills,” said Bridget Barnes, Boys Town Common Sense Parenting Director. “Children are more cooperative and parents are less frustrated.” Café events cost $15 and will have snacks and beverages provided. Parents are welcome to bring a lunch as well. Attendees will receive a free book, but registration is limited. Those that want to participate should call (402) 498-1059 to sign up. Child care will not be provided.
