resident expertise in this topic, and we offer many alternative electives in the
Anthropology major/minor.
3.
Effect of course deletion on programs or other departments, if known: The course
has not been offered for more than ten years. It served as an elective in the anthropology
major/minor, and there are many alternative courses which satisfy the elective
requirement. Deletion will have no effect on completion of the major/minor.

3.
Effect of course deletion on programs or other departments, if known: The course
has not been offered for more than ten years. It could be used as either an elective in the
anthropology major/minor or an option in the Cultural Anthropology concentration, and
in both of those cases there are many alternative courses which satisfy the elective or
concentration requirements. Deletion will have no effect on completion of the

1.
Identification of course:
1.1
Current course prefix (subject area) and number: ANTH 430
1.2
Course title: Kentucky Archaeology
1.3
Credit hours: 3
2.
Rationale for the course deletion: The Anthropology Program offered this course as
part of a multi-disciplinary curriculum for a Kentucky Studies Certificate. However, the
course was last offered in 2007 and suspended in 2008 due to low enrollments.
3.
Effect of course deletion on programs or other departments, if known: The course
has not been offered for five years and was suspended in 2008. Even though it was part
of the Kentucky Studies Certificate, it should have no impact on completion of the
certificate due to its previous lack of availability. The class could also be used as an
elective in the anthropology major/minor. Deletion of the course will have no effect on
completion of the major/minor because there are many alternative courses which satisfy
the elective requirement.
