CenturyLink 2015 Bargaining Report We have been at the bargaining table with the CenturyLink Labor/Management team daily since Tuesday May 12th. We apologize for not sending out a bargaining report until now but we were waiting to see exactly where things might be headed for this round of bargaining. The company has shown us that their planned direction is to cut benefits and roll back things that our CenturyLink membership has worked hard over the years to gain and protect. Here are some items that have been discussed so far. Freeze the current pension Anyone hired, rehired or transferred in after Jan 1, 2016 would not be eligible for the Pension Plan Remove the allotment for Safety Shoes Reduce the allotment for prescription Safety Glassed form $100 to $75 Refused our Union proposal to move grandparent, grandchild, mother-in law, father-inlaw under Immediate Family to allow 5 days off in the event of their death. Refused our Union proposal to raise the 401(k) match back to 100% of the first 6% you contribute Rejected our Union proposal to carry over two weeks of vacation Refused our Union proposal to provide no layoff job security for anyone on the company payroll as June 2, 2015 Refused our request to raise the amounts in the Supplemental Income Protection Plan Local 2204 and the CWA National will continue to push for a nationwide contract for all CenturyLink Locals verses bargaining each one individually. We continue to propose that each year we bargain and each year the company refuses. We have recessed from bargaining for the weekend and will reconvene Monday May 18 th at 9am. Continue to watch the CWA Local 2204 Facebook page and website for updates. We want to give a big Thank you to all our CenturyLink and CWA Local 2204 members for coming out to the strike vote and info picket/rally on Friday. Keep up the mobilization by reminding your supervisors daily that you demand a good contract and continue to wear your red CWA Buttons while you are at work.
