Information Sheet & Submission Form – AWARDS FOR Spring 2016 and early Fall 2016 Description: The BBA Alumni Endowed Excellence Fund will help provide financial support for studentled initiatives that will enhance the educational experience of the BBA programs. This fund was created to support new or existing student initiatives that have a broad and potentially lasting positive impact for BBA students. This fund is unique in that a committee of students, alumni, and BBA program staff will work together to determine optimal usage of the funds. Examples of applicable student-led initiatives include: case competitions, stock pitches, educational conferences and programs that are primarily academic or professional in nature. Programs not considered include those which are social or philanthropic in nature. The fund’s award committee expects to grant funding of $500-2,500 per program, depending on the needs of the program and the number of programs funded in a given semester. Scope of Proposals Considered: Proposals must be for programs led and managed by students; the organization must agree to follow all MASO rules and regulations for spending UT funds. Proposals can be for a new initiative or an existing activity. The proposal must be for a one-time funding commitment. The primary beneficiaries of the proposal must be BBA students. Funding Timeline: Proposals are considered in Mid-August for the upcoming Fall and the end of November for the upcoming Spring and early Fall (through September 2016). Selection Process and Application Deadline: Proposals for Spring 2016 and early Fall 2016 programs are due by noon November 5, 2015. An award committee including current students, McCombs School administration, and alumni will meet to determine recipients. Winning submission(s) will be announced by midAugust. Criteria for award decisions will include: Emphasis on experiential learning (i.e., supporting an educational purpose?) Use of funds (i.e., is it a good value or big “bang for the buck,” number of students effected and how significantly impacted) Importance of BBAEEF funding relative to other potential sources (i.e., could this program be funded with other sources?) Submit Proposal to: BBAExcellenceFund@mccombs.utexas.edu Required Pre & Post-Event: All organizations with funded requests must schedule and complete a review with a Student Life Advisor 1-3 month PRIOR (based on guidelines from training) AND within two weeks AFTER the event. A hand-written thank you note addressed to the BBA/MPA Alumni Board must be delivered to CBA 2.302 and a photo of the event must be submitted to bbaexcellencefund@mccombs.utexas.edu within one week after the event.
