a. The new car rider pick up procedures are in place and seem to be going well.
b. We have received monitory donations to help cover the costs of the CarRider Pro
System.
c. Prior to the start of the school year all faculty and staff were trained in Promoting
Positive Behavior in School to meet the requirements of the new Restraint & Seclusion
mandate.

BUDGET REPORT
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
A. Student Achievement Report
a. Individual Student K-PREP scores were released on August 2, 2013, but were removed
on August 5th, 2013 due to an issue with the rounding of cut scores.
b. Individual Student K-PREP scores were re-released on August 14, 2013, with the
individual student growth data also available.
c. Test data is only available to districts and schools. Public release of scores is expected
on September 23 – 27th, 2013.
B. Assessing Student Achievement
a. The fall MAP Testing window for the 2013-14 School Year is September 3rd – 27th,
and will includes grades 1-5.
b. AIMSweb Testing for 2013-14 School Year will be for those students scoring in the
bottom 20% on the MAP test.
c. Goal Sheets will be updated with K-PREP data and MAP scores as the information
becomes available.
PLANNING
A. Monthly Review
1. First Baptist Church Back to School Bash was held Saturday, July 20th, 2013. Over 100
backpacks were prepared.
2. PD360 & Common Core Training was held in Owensboro on July 22nd, 2013. Emily
Rhoades and Janet Higgs attended.
3. Kindergarten Home Visits were on July 22 & 23, 2013
4. Kindergarten Screening on Thursday, July 25th, 2013. All but 4 kindergarteners that were
enrolled on that date were screened.
5. Kindergarten Boo-Hoo Breakfast and Fun Day was on Friday, July 26th, 2013
6. Readifest was held Monday, July 29th, 2013, at the West Campus Gym
7. Central City Elementary Open House was held on Tuesday, July 30th, 2013, from 5:00 –
7:00 PM

8. Initiative on Poverty Training/The Leader in Me training was held Friday morning, August
2, 2013, for our faculty and staff. Jason Creekmore presented Lexia Core 5 and ALEKS
training in the afternoon.
9. All Muhlenberg County employees attended a 6 hour training on the Initiative on Poverty on
Monday, August 5, 2013, at the Felix Martin Hall. Patti Albright was the presenter.
10. Volunteer Orientation was held Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 9:00 A.M. & 5:00 P.M.
11. WatchDOGS Kickoff was held Thursday, August 15, 2013
12. Faculty Meeting was held Monday, August 19th, 2013, to go over the new district
guidelines for Response to Intervention (RTI).
13. School Smiles dental program is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th, 2013.
14. School Pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th, 2013.
15. Cub Scouts have a presentation scheduled for Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 1:45 for all
boys in grades 1 – 5. Sign-ups will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in the school
cafeteria from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M.
16. The Fall Book Fair and Family Week is scheduled for the week of September 16th, 2013.

D. Professional Development –
1. Professional Development training was held on Friday, August 2nd, 2013, for MAP
training. Eight teachers attended in the morning and four in the afternoon. This was a
train the trainer model. Those teachers who attended will be training the rest of their
grade level teachers on how to better use the data generated by MAP.
2. As part of the Muhlenberg County Initiative on Poverty, each school is to conduct one
hour of training each month. A one hour faculty meeting has been added to the
calendar each month for this training.
E. Literacy Committee – Michelle Sparks, Jo Jo Jarvis, and Jennifer Sanders attended Benchmark
Assessment training at Greenville Elementary on July 31st, 2013. We are looking at using this
assessment in grades 1 & 3 for this year.
