ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT APPOINTMENTS (First-Year Advisement & Colleges): 12:30-4:30PM
Academic Advisement/class registration appointments are listed on nametags. Visit the Help Desk table located in the Corker Lounge of the Student
Center 30 minutes prior to your appointment if you wish to be escorted to the Academic Advisement locations by Orientation Leaders. Utilize
Campus Map if you wish to go on your own to your appointment. Please be on time for your appointment.
If you are an Automotive Technology or Aviation Flight major, please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to your appointment to be transported to the
Transportation Education Classroom off-campus.
Keep in mind that some tasks, appointments, tours, etc. will overlap. To minimize confusion, this is a helpful reminder to keep track of all times and
commitments to ensure your New Student Orientation goes as smoothly as possible.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION
 Register for classes during/after an Academic Advisement Appointment
LIVING AND LEARNING AT SIU
 Sign up for University Housing and Meal Plans (University Housing office, Student Services Building, 4th floor)
 Learn about parking options and procedures from the Parking Division (Washington Square)
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
 Meet with a Financial Aid Counselor to discuss your award package (as needed) (Student Services Building, 2nd floor)
 Discuss convenient bill-paying options provided by the Bursar’s Office (Student Services Building, 2nd floor)
SALUKI RESPONSIBILITIES
 Get your SIU ID Card made at the ID Office (Student Center, 2nd floor)
 Verify that your Immunizations Records are complete and learn about the Student Health Insurance provided by Student Health Services

 Locate our computer labs and free Wi-Fi areas as you set up your SIU email account and verify your SalukiNet and SIU Online accounts
 Understand the rights and responsibilities inherent with being an SIU Saluki by reviewing the Student Conduct Code (srr.siu.edu/
student_conduct_code)
