GLOUCESTER GUILDHALL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Guildhall
Environmental Policy.
General Information.
Gloucester Guildhall is part of the Regeneration Directorate within Gloucester City Council.
It has been a lively venue since 1988 and has been entertaining and invigorating Gloucester
ever since. Over 5 million people have passed through its doors to date; enjoying thousands
of live shows, concerts, film screenings, conferences, exhibitions, comedy nights, cabaret,
theatre and lots more.
The Gloucester Guildhall is a premier City Centre Venue. So far this year we have had over
24,000 people through the door. Every year this number rises due to popularity for
conferences and big named bands.
Declaration of Commitment.
The Guildhall as part of the City Council seeks to uphold its environmental policy. We
commit to efficient energy management.
Guiding Principles,
As a multi use venue we will comply with approved codes of practise and environmental
legislation. We will monitor other similar venues and look to replicate best practise. We
would expect to achieve cost reductions and to improve year on year with efficiency saved
in using new technology or using materials and energy more efficiently.
Aims.
We will measure energy used during our activities and seek to reduce that amount. We will
seek to reduce energy used during our quiet times.
We will recycle and continue to find new things to recycle. We will encourage our customers
to recycle.
We will continue to have a positive impact on the community and to educate and facilitate
