The RIII Archaeological Dig Open Days

6,880 people viewed the RIII dig site when it was opened to the public for 6 days in September 2012.

During September 2012 the Guildhall was visited by 9,969 people. The average September visitor number for the
previous 3 years is 3,000.
The RIII Temporary Exhibition at the Guildhall


On 8th February 2013 the RIII Exhibition opened at the Guildhall. During February and March 2013 the Guildhall had
45,806 visitors.
The average visitor number for Jan-Mar for the previous 3 years is 6,500.


In 2012-13 The Guildhall had 84,475 visitors.
The average annual visitor number for the previous 3 years is 35,780.

In 2013-14 the Guildhall had 139,533 visitors.

Survey data demonstrates that there is a great deal of interest in RIII outside of Leicester itself. From April 2013 - March
2014, 31% of visitors came from the county and 46% came from other parts of the UK and abroad.

The RIII Temporary Exhibition opened on 8th February 2013 and ended on 8th June 2014. During this period the
Guildhall had 201,653 visitors.
