What we did this week (Oct. 12-16)
We did lessons 2.10, 2.11, 2.12, and 2.13 in
Everyday math. We had a unit 2 test on Friday.
We wrote “Star Biographies.” I hope you enjoyed
reading them on Open House Night. We did some
Sound experiments for science. We made ear
diagrams for science. We read a book called If
and made our own class book.
Looking ahead . . . (Oct. 19-23)
Specials schedule . . .
Monday: Phy.ed., music, and keyboarding
We will begin Unit 3 in Everyday math and do
lessons 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3. We will begin math and
literacy camps. We will walk to the Fire Station on
Monday, Oct. 19th. We will write in our Memory
Journals about our trip to the Fire Station. We will
begin reading groups as part of our reading center
time. We will do an experiment for science called
“Sound eggs.”
Homework for next week . . (Oct. 19-23)
Read 20 minutes every night.
Tuesday: Computer lab and Phy.ed.
Wednesday: Art
Thursday: Music and Library

Important dates:
Monday, Oct. 19: Walking fieldtrip to the Fire
Station. We will leave at 12:45 and return at
2:00. Please contact me if you would like to
chaperone. Thanks!
Tuesday, Oct. 20th: Board game reward. Our
class can bring a board game to school.
Thursday, Oct. 22nd: Hat Day reward. Our class
can wear a hat during the school day.
Thursday, Oct. 22nd: Homemade music
instruments are due for science.
Thursday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Oct. 30: No school.
Reminders
October 22nd is Jump Start’s Read for the Record day. We will be joining thousands of people across
the country reading the book Not Norman.
Our class earned two class rewards and we will be celebrating them in conjunction with Read for the
Record Day this week. We will be having board game day on Oct. 20th. Students can bring a board
game from home if they wish. We also earned HAT DAY. The students can wear a hat to school on
Thursday, Oct. 22nd.
