At the end of the course, the students will be able to: listen and respond to dialogues and talks discuss on a topic and participate in conversations, read texts using various reading strategies and techniques as well as generating ideas about the texts, make predictions, develop assumptions and express them properly, use the English sentence structures correctly, produce written documents (a rewrite of a story by using personality adjectives, a CV and cover letter, a default essay, an e-mail) using proper organization, content, vocabulary and mechanics, deliver presentations on the specific topics assigned. This course consists of basic study skills, reading comprehension, class discussions about the topic of the unit, vocabulary building, and critical analysis of texts. It also includes research assignments, review of the English language structure, listening and note-taking, analysis of written products. There is practice on writing, portfolio keeping. Preparing and delivering presentations, use of technology are significant components of the course, as well.
