Year 10 PLP 2015 ASSESSMENT 1 : CAPABILITIES PURPOSE The purpose of the Capabilities Assessment is to: Demonstrate your understanding of each of the 7 Capabilities: literacy, numeracy, information & communication technology, critical & creative thinking, personal & social capability, ethical understanding, intercultural understanding Give detailed examples of evidence of activities which you have participated in as supporting evidence of your understanding of each Capability. Describe how the skills and personal attributes you have developed in these Capabilities may be an asset in the workplace and for your chosen Career options. CAPABILITIES CRITERIA This Assessment item must be presented in an Electronic Format eg. Multi-modal presentation, video, photostory with anecdotes, powerpoint, “Prezi”, webpage, photo/video collage with voice over etc. (Adobe Premier Pro) You will need to include information on all of the following areas for each of the Capabilities, LITERACY, NUMERACY, INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY, CRITICAL & CREATIVE THINKING, PERSONAL & SOCIAL CAPABILITY, ETHICAL UNDERSTANDING, INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING: A detailed personal definition for each of the 7 Capabilities, eg. What does the word Literacy mean to you? Explain in detail. An Inventory of all of the activities you have participated in for each Capability. Choose a minimum of 2 examples for each from your Inventory and describe insightfully and in detail how you have developed them. More examples and more detail for each will be an asset. A list of the Personal skills and abilities (eg. SenseAbility Essential Skills) you have developed through the examples and how they have been useful in achieving your Personal, Learning and Work (Career) goals. In your e-folio under each of the Capabilities, include: Your definition for each of the Capabilities at the beginning of the section. Next, your Inventory of activities. 2 detailed examples or notes and information you used to develop your electronic presentation. ie. Your personal definition of Literacy goes at the front of the Literacy section, followed by the Inventory and 2 examples. Tick your rating for each section (ie. Literacy), from 0-10, 0-not satisfactory to 10-demonstrated to an excellent level. FORM/AUDIENCE This must be presented electronically.
