You will have to choose 3 total activities, 1 from each category. Read the directions carefully.

Readings:
Choose one of the following books to read and write a report on
1. Read the book and write a 2.5 page synopsis
2. Include a plot summary, your overall opinion of the book, and how you think it connects to US History.
*Most of these books can be found at the local library or for really cheap on Amazon. I have some of them; you may
borrow my copy but please return it quickly so others can use it if need be. If you wish to borrow it I will leave in the
front office when requested.











Historic Sites/Museums:
Choose one of the following sites and visit; some are nearby, some may require travel. You are welcome to travel with
fellow classmates, but everyone must turn in their own work.
At the site, you should tour, take pictures, and do touristy things. Learn! All these sites chosen represent different eras
of American history in North Carolina. Some are free admission and others charge; find out before you go.
1. Take a selfie at the site so that it is clear you went there.
2. Bring back a brochure or guide from the site.
3. Write a 2.5 page paper detailing what you learned from your visit.






Choose one of the following films to watch and report on.
1. Watch the movie
2. Write a 2 page critique of the film.
3. Do a little research on the historicity of the film (how accurate is it) and write about it. You are free to write how
you wish, but consider the film makers reasons for bending the truth.

you do not turn it in the first day, it will be a 0. Contact me before the first day with any
problems or complications. Put everything in a clear plastic cover. Each paper should be
typed, double spaced, 12 pt font.
