Rules Governing Admission to Draws
Social Draws
1. The social draws take registrations on an individual basis. Teams are put together by the
Drawmaster and often teams are switched around during the season to allow members to socialize
with different people.
2. Each draw will consist of a minimum of 16 members and a maximum of 40 members unless
otherwise approved by the Board of Directors.
3. Priority will be given to players from the previous year in each draw until August 31, 2015
4. After August 31, 2015 each draw will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
5. To play on a social draw, a member should be 16 years of age as of September 1, 2015,
exceptions subject to Drawmaster approval.
6. All registrations will be accepted until the start of the curling season. It will be up to the Board of
Directors as to whether one can enter a draw after the start of the season based on numbers.
Team Draws
1. The team draws are skip's choice whereby the skip chooses his/her team. If you are not on a team,
2.

but would like to be, indicate this on your application form. An attempt will be made to place
curlers on competitive teams.
In open team draws, teams may be any combination of women and men.
Each draw will consist of a minimum of 4 teams and a maximum of 10 teams unless otherwise
approved by the Board of Directors.
Priority will be given to “returning teams” from the previous session in each draw until August 31,
2015 (November 30, 2015 for Winter Session)
To be considered a “returning team”, a team must have a minimum of two members returning from
the previous season.
After August 31 (November 30, 2015 for Winter Session) each draw will be filled on a first come,
first served basis. Teams not accepted because the draw is full will be placed on a waiting list.
To be placed on the waiting list, a team must have a minimum of 3 players.
A skip’s application before August 31 (November 30 for Winter Session) reserves an entry for
his/her returning team until September 15 (December 15 for Winter Session) at which time at least
two other members must have submitted an application or teams on the waiting list will be given
the spot in the draw. The skip is the person whose name was used as the team name on the
2014/2015 season schedule as prepared by the 2014/2015 season Drawmaster.
If a team does not have four members by the start of the curling season, the Membership Manager
will work with the skip to fill open positions with interested players. Returning teams will be filled by
this method before teams on the waiting list are given preference to the draw.
House Rules for the 2015/2016 Season:
1. O.C.A. rules apply.
2. No end shall start after 8:20pm if the draw began at 6:30pm.
3. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the arena part of the building as this is in violation of
our liquor license.
4. No glass containers are allowed in the arena.
5. Please see our posted Etiquette guidelines.
Safety Guidelines
All of our safety guidelines are posted at the curling club. Please read the guidelines carefully. The
lists posted are not an exhaustive list of safety guidelines but are intended to make members aware of
some of the safety concerns. It is the responsibility of each member to act responsibly and safely
while on club property.

membership for these events to run successfully. On a monthly basis the club refunds this fee for
those having completed their duty.

capital items and renovations the club needs to fund.
