Wax Museum
Dear Parents,
Fifth Grade Students will be working on a biography project at home
and school. Below you will find all of the requirements. Our culminating
event will be our Wax Museum which will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012
from 2:45-3:20. We hope you will be able to join us.

Directions:
1. Select an appropriate biography book about a famous person in library
class. Your teacher must approve the famous person and book.
2. Read the book. Use the graphic organizer provided to take notes as
you are reading.
3. In class you will develop five “thick” questions about your person. These
questions and answers will be typed and memorized.
4. Create a “Pop Star” using the directions in the packet.
5. Create a costume of your character. Be as realistic as possible.
6. During computer lab time, you will create a PowerPoint slide that will
showcase your five “thick” questions.
7. During class you will write a “Bio Poem” about your famous person.

1 empty and cleaned two-liter soda bottle

Directions
1. Peel off the label from the empty soda bottle.
2. Decorate the bottle to look like the famous person you read about.
3. Use craft materials to cover the bottle and be creative!
4. Add items such as

g. Facial features
**Hint – If you choose to paint your bottle, rub sandpaper over the entire
bottle to help the paint adhere.
