Hours of Work:
This is a full-time post (36.25 hours per week) preferably, though
applications are accepted from candidates wishing to work part-time
to a minimum of 30 hours (over at least 4 days) per week. Please

The Purpose of the New Role:
To provide a consistent approach to coordinating data handling and quality across the research
projects within Breast Surgery & the Centre of Excellence for Autoimmunity in Cancer (CEAC). The
person would be responsible for coordinating data entry and data quality procedures and
implementation on Breast Surgery & CEAC managed research. He/she will work closely with the
research investigators and Trial Managers and to ensure clinical research data quality.
This post will support research on the biology of cancer including clinical and laboratory studies on
endocrine and growth factors in breast cancer as well as research on autoimmunity in cancer.
Main Responsibilities

Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop study specific Data
Management Plans.

Receive and log data in clinical trials and research studies. Maintain trial
and research databases in consultation with senior staff ensuring the
consistency, accuracy and completeness of clinical data on the
database.
Perform manual data validation checks for inconsistencies and unclear
or missing data prior to data entry and raise, track and resolve data
queries. Performing quality control checks on Clinical Trials data as
required.
Construct and use excel and Access databases as appropriate to
projects.
Run data queries and export information from database as required by
colleagues to support activities within the Department
Provide database advice to other colleagues.

Run statistical analyses as appropriate.
Use Microsoft excel and
Graphpad Prism to construct charts for presentation of data
Prepare presentations to display data effectively for senior colleagues
and undertake general secretarial and administrative duties as required
Check and supervises the ongoing filing and archiving of clinical study
data and data management documentation in accordance with Good
Clinical Practice guidelines.
Manage and prioritise the data entry and validation requirements of
multiple projects versus applicable timelines. Assist in managing the
workload of any data entry clerks.
Perform and/or oversees the QC of the clinical data and additional data
cleaning as required. Make any recommendations for improvements to
data guidelines.
