Sweet Protection AS is a Norwegian company that designs, develops and manufactures helmets,
protection equipment and technical clothing for skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and
whitewater kayaking. The company was established in the town of Trysil in 2000, and currently has a
strong position in Norway and a growing position internationally. The company, employing 16
people, had an annual turnover of just over NOK 50 million in 2012. The Sweet Protection
headquarter is in Trysil, and the company has offices in Oslo, Stockholm and Italy, as well as agents
in all relevant markets (Europe and the United States). There are ambitious plans for future growth.
Sweet Protection has redefined its strategy during 2012, resulting in a clarification of target groups
and profile. Implementation of this new strategy has started.
Sweet Protection is an “informal” organisation; most of the entrepreneurial founders are still in
leading positions in the company. The main focus is on growth, while working to professionalise the
organization.

Responsibilities for the new Marketing Manager
• Overall responsibility for company's marketing activities, brand and communications/public
relations
• Responsible for building a consistent expression and position and for carrying out the
marketing/communication concepts that strengthen the company’s profile and increase sales in
Norway and other core markets
• Strategic planning and operational execution of marketing activities, production of marketing
material
• Planning and operational execution of corporate communications/public relations activities,
production of PR- materials
• Responsibility for SP´s visible profile on all platforms; print, web and social media and in-store
• Responsibility for the company's team- and product placement strategy

• Member of the company's management team, contributing to the company's overall strategic
direction and goals
• Budget responsibility
Tasks (non-exclusive):
• Day- to-day management of marketing dept/tasks
• Budgeting and budget reporting
• Planning and execution of marketing and PR activities
• Production of all marketing, PR and sales material; pictures, movies, text, product catalogues etc.,
as well as production of content for web pages, social media and ads. Follow-up of agencies
• Web content & profile for the Sweet Protections website
• Trade shows/events: Carrying out marketing activities in connection with events and trade shows
• Follow-up of team
Objectives for the position (measures expected met within a certain time):
• Further positioning of the brand Sweet Protection
• Establish and implement concepts/platforms for communication of new strategy
• Contribute to growth/increased sales in existing markets
• Planning & execution of launch & in new markets
Reporting relationships
• Reports to the General Manager/CEO
Travel in business that is required (days per year):
+ 50 days a year

Education:
• College and/or University degree
Languages:
• English; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Norwegian is an advantage, but not the most important
• German is an advantage
Summary:
• Operational and strategic marketing manager with good commercial instincts

• Storyteller, develop and communicate product stories in traditional and new media

• Good understanding of relevant markets and/or customer groups
