Course Description:
We will read various articles mainly related to ESL/EFL reading, including those
on theories, empirical studies, and classroom-based practice and critically evaluate
each. Linguistic, cognitive, textual, and cultural factors will be highlighted. The
influences and contributions made by L1 reading theory will also be discussed.
