Position Description Consultant II - Advisor Services Position Overview The primary responsibility of this position is to promote Securities America Advisors’ (SAA) services to qualified advisors through proactive sales activities, to provide sales consultations to help advisors develop successful fee-based practices, and to convince them to affiliate with SAA and use our fee-based platforms and services. Other responsibilities include helping the advisor through licensing process, attending trade shows to promote SAA services and facilitating all other activities for the advisor that culminate in him/her being officially licensed and approved to do business with SAA. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in finance or other business related field or equivalent work experience. 3 – 5 years of securities industry related experience 3 – 5 years sales and/or consulting experience CFP, ChFC, and/or CLU designations strongly preferred Series 7, Series 65 or 66 required Ability to obtain the Series 24 within 6 months of hire Ability to confidently and persuasively present the benefits of SAA programs Ability to execute a sales plan; meet or exceed sales activity and growth goals Ability to organize leads, prioritize activities, and consistently follow-up with potential Securities America advisors in a timely manner. Ability to communicate with customers, coworkers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner Ability to be at work on a regular and predictable basis Ability to work flexible hours (may require evening and weekends) Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10% of time) Knowledge of the fee-based business model and of SAA products and services Knowledge of FINRA and SEC rules and regulations Knowledge of the securities industry practices, procedures, and terminology Skill in excellent verbal and written communications, along with strong public speaking and group presentation skills. Skill in networking, building trust, and developing strong relationships with existing and prospective IARs of Securities America Advisors. Skill in utilizing needs based selling and consultative sales techniques Skill in operating personal computer and various software packages (i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.) Revised: 02/09/16 Consultant – Advisor Services Job Duties/Tasks: This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following: 1. Managing a sales territory with a focus on proactive, outbound sales activities to drive Gross Sales and increase AUM on SAA platforms. 2. Communicate to current reps an in depth understanding of the fee based business model and articulate the values/benefits of the SAA programs and products. 3. Handle incoming phone calls and e-mail inquiries from advisors inquiring into fee based programs and deliver extraordinary customer service to those advisors using the advisory platforms. 4. Utilize needs based consulting skills to identify the needs of the advisor and provide an opportunity for those needs to be met through the development of a fee-based business model. 5. Identify qualified potential advisors and solicit fee based business by making outbound prospecting calls, meeting in-person during on-site visits and traveling to advisors’ office when appropriate. 6. Use persuasive selling techniques to persuade qualified advisors to implement a transition to SAA fee based programs. 7. Actively participate in company delivered coaching programs to promote concepts and tactics that guide a potential fee-based advisor to discover his/her needs and offer the best possible solution to ensure his/her needs are fulfilled. 8. Support advisor in designing an implementation plan to transition business to fee-based model. May include travel to the advisor’s office to help complete paperwork and other requirements associated with the transition process 9. Proactively identify issues that advisor may encounter during transition (compliance regulations and procedures, licensing requirements, client communications, etc.).. 10. Facilitate other activities for the advisor that culminate in him/her being officially licensed and approved to do business with SAA. 11. Partner with SAI recruiting department during HOVs and sales calls to help explain SAA services to advisors for whom SAI has the lead-recruiting role. 12. Attend trade shows, conferences, and OSJ meetings to promote SAA services through oneon-one meetings, group presentations and demos, and presentations during conference sessions. 13. Develop creative sales techniques and seek opportunities to consistently learn and train. 14. Assist in the creation and implementation of new business development initiatives. 15.
