On the offensive line adjustments
“It’s one of those things where you’ve got to get the feel for the guy. Especially on the offensive line, we’ve got to be on the
same page. So it’s been a learning experience, which is good for me. I’ve been in the league a few years and anytime I can
continue to learn, it’s for the better. But it’s been a learning experience and a bit of a curveball, but we’re doing pretty good with
it.”
On how long it takes to get comfortable with the right tackle
“It depends, I guess, if the guy has more experience or not. We’re rotating right now with [T] Chris Clark and [T] Winston Justice.
They have a few years under their belts, so it’s not taking very long because they’ve been in the game and they know what
offensive line play is about.”
On the importance of this time of year
“We take everything pretty seriously. At this point, we’re in June, nothing’s set right now. Everybody’s still fighting for jobs. So
we’re just continuing to come out here and trying to learn. Trying to get back in the rhythm of things and learn how each other’s
play, learn each other’s playing style and trying to get everybody on the same page.”
On watching the Super Bowl tape
“I didn’t watch it until we came back for OTAs and had some cutups. It’s a bad taste in your mouth but you just take it for what it
is, learn from it and build on the good.”
On how successful his season was last year
“That’s kind of hard for me to say. I feel I learn something new every year. I pick up something to add to my game. So every year I
like to think I’ve built on the previous year before.”
On his focus as a player
“Just great technique. That’s my biggest focus, is playing with technique, every play, every down. The results show for
themselves. My only concern is play with good technique and everything else will follow.”
On the running game and being a balanced offense
“Absolutely. Anytime an offense is balanced, it means they’re running the ball pretty well. And that’s a focus for us this year. I’m
pretty excited with Montee [Ball] back there, getting more chances to show what he can do.”
On his beard
“I haven’t shaved [since the Super Bowl]. I’ve trimmed it up a little bit but it’s part of me now. It’s going to stay for a little while.
I’m just going to keep it going. Let it roll.”
