BGS 2.0 Yearly Planning Calendar
Fall 2014
Fall Chapter Activities:
• Elect student officers for the 2014-15 academic year and hold planning meeting (if haven’t already).
• Identify & invite eligible students following new eligibility requirements.
• Host an information table or information session.
• Host a fall Recognition Ceremony. Send photos to the Central Office.
• Host a BGS event such as a career panel, company tour, speaker event, or etiquette dinner. Connect with school
alumni and/or a BGS Alumni Chapter in your area. Send photos to the Central Office.
• Honor BGS members during commencement. Send photos to the Central Office.
Fall Society Programs:
• September 8-21: Encourage students to participate in the Virtual Graduate School Fair.
• September 18-19: Attend the Collegiate Chapter Training Seminar in Philadelphia, PA (if haven’t attended in the
last 3 years).
• October 15: Deadline for Beta Gamma Sigma Rebranding Competition sponsored by GEICO.
• October 25 or any date in the fall: Plan a service project for the BGS Gives Back Day of Service. Send photos to
the Central Office.
• November 6-9: Send students to the Student Leadership Forum in Indianapolis, IN.
• November 15: Mentorship Program applications due for potential members and students.
• Various dates: Organize a satellite viewing event of the Meet the Leaders of Business Speaker Series.
Nomination Deadlines:
 November 14: Outstanding Chapter and Outstanding Chapter Advisor nominations due.
 November 21: Business Achievement and Medallion for Entrepreneurship Award nominations due.
 Meet the Leaders of Business Speaker Series: Nominations for chapters to serve as a host accepted on a rolling
basis.
Spring 2015

• Complete Chapter Year in Review Survey by July 15 deadline.

• February 19: Celebrate Founders’ Day. Send photos to the Central Office.
 March 5-6: Attend the Collegiate Chapter Training Seminar in San Diego, CA (if haven’t attended in the last 3
