Dear Parents/Guardians, here are the Glen Ames News Updates for January 8th, 2016
GLEN AMES GRADE 6 OPEN HOUSE FOR FEEDER SCHOOLS
Our annual Grade 6 Open House is Thursday, January 14th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium.
Parents/guardians from our feeder schools (Adam Beck, Balmy Beach, Kew Beach, Kimberley, Beaches
Alternative, Gledhill and Williamson Road) are invited to come and learn about our English, French
Immersion and Extended French programs. Please note that Gledhill French Immersion students will now
be attending DA Morrison MS beginning September 2016.
The agenda is as follows:

MALVERN VISIT
On Wednesday, January 13th at 12:35 pm all Grade 8 students from Glen Ames will be going to Malvern
Collegiate for the Grade 9 tour. The students will walk with their teachers from Glen Ames to
Malvern. The tour runs from 1 pm to 3:15 pm. Students will be dismissed from Malvern to go home for
the day.
If you would like your child to walk back to Glen Ames to be dismissed, please kindly notify the office
before January 13th.

STRING PROGRAM
Ms. Storyk, the String Itinerant at Glen Ames, will be absent until January 18th, 2015. The String Program
will be cancelled during her absence.
REMINDER NOT TO BRING VALUABLES TO SCHOOL
This is an added reminder to all students that their valuables should be kept at home. Students are
responsible for their cell phones and any other valuables brought to school. If they are taken to school,
students are reminded to secure these items. Students who stay at school during the lunch period are
also encouraged to leave their backpacks in their lockers. Glen Ames School assumes no responsibility
for lost and or stolen items when they are brought to school by students.

The Tier One team has its first game on Thursday, January 14th vs. King Edward PS.

The team has been selected. More news about our upcoming season will be available soon.
