JOB DESCRIPTION Post: Programme Manager – Centre for Maternal & Newborn Health Responsible to: Operations Manager, CMNH Summary of role: An exciting opportunity to work in a team and help manage the expanding portfolio of work of the CMNH at LSTM. The Programme Manager will help the CMNH to attain its objectives through contributing to and supervising the provision of managerial and logistical support. The post will be based in Liverpool, however, overseas travel may be required. Key Responsibilities: Lead on all aspects of programme management on various won contracts, ensuring the delivery of programmes on time and to budget. Preparation and negotiation of proposals to funding agencies including both solicited and unsolicited proposals and renegotiation of contracts with funding agencies as necessary. Day to day management of the CMNH portfolio of activities which will include responsibility for implementing mechanisms and systems necessary to achieve the objectives of the CMNH. Oversee and co-ordinate the completion of progress narrative and financial reports as required by the partners and donors. Monitor expenditure and costs within the project portfolio. Assist with recruitment of new staff and management of staff related administration (work permits, visas, time sheets etc) in liaison with Human Resources, financial management in liaison with the Finance Office and the general administration of the portfolio of activities. Oversee and co-ordinate TOR for technical assistance work as carried out by members of the CMNH and external consultants. Assist with the planning of allocation of resources and skills within the project portfolio so that the CMNH deliverables are met in a timely and effective manner. Manage staff in the CMNH. To carry out such other duties reasonably consistent with the foregoing as may be required.
