Position Title:
Organist/Music Coordinator

Position Overview:
To provide organ/piano accompaniment for Sunday morning worship and work in
Conjunction with the Pastor and Worship Committee, in the area of the Church’s
ministry of music. Leadership includes, but is not limited to, accompanying the
congregational singing, offering anthems, service music, and worship with the choir to
learn new music.
Regular Duties:





Provide accompaniment for 11:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday Morning (1/1.5 hours a week)
Provide accompaniment for choir rehearsals (1 hour a week)
Select as needed prelude, hymns, offertory, and postlude
Recommend purchase of appropriate music to the Pastor and Choir Director
Seek the Spirit of God as you are a leader in worship, thus as such worship is a posture of the heart!
Worship alongside of us as you lead.
Occasional Duties:
Provide accompaniment for special services, including:





Community Thanksgiving Service (upon our hosting of the service)
Christmas Eve Worship Service
Ash Wednesday Worship Service
Maundy Thursday or Good Friday Worship
Easter Sunrise Service

Meet with the Worship Committee and Pastor concerning musical needs and ways to improve
worship
Weddings and Funerals:
The Organist has the right of first refusal for all weddings and funerals requiring organ and/or piano music
held within the church. The fee for services rendered shall be negotiated between the requesting parties and
the organist.
Vacations: four Sundays per a year
