Responsible for the appropriate analysis of medical research studies including large and complex databases, and feedback of results to non-statisticians. Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities (6-10 bullet points maximum) 1. To provide statistical input to the design and running of Centre studies. 2. To undertake statistical analyses of epidemiological studies. 3. To summarise and report the result of analyses, particularly to nonstatisticians. 4. To manage large and complex databases. 5. To contribute to methodology, statistical computing, modelling etc. 6. To participate in teaching and training as appropriate 7. The post also involves collaboration with research staff based in the University of Southampton and elsewhere. Person Specification Criteria Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: MSc in statistics or equivalent postgraduate qualification. Some previous experience of conducting statistical analyses. Planning and Organising: Problem Solving and Initiative: Desirable Application form Previous research experience. Attention to detail.
