Reading/ELA: We will be reading realistic
fiction. We will describe characters in a story.
Spelling: We will be learning words that have
short e, short o, and short u sounds.

You can find these words with the definitions on
my school website and on the weekly review sheet
that is sent home on Fridays.

Reminders
-Please go through your child’s Weekly Work
folder each week. These are sent home on Fridays.
-Make sure you look at and initial planners each
night.
-Homework given on Friday’s is due the following
Friday.
-Read an AR book 20 minutes each night.

September 7th: Labor Day (no school)
Fun Friday
In order to attend Fun Friday, students
must meet their AR goal for the week and
be at 80% accuracy, turn in all work, and
their clip must land on green or above 3 or
more days that week.
AR
Every student has taken the star
test and you have received a
letter explaining what their
level and goal will be for the
first nine weeks. Each student
must be at 20% of their goal by
Friday, the 28th.
Box Tops
Please continue to save Box Tops for
Education for us as it is a fundraiser for our
school. Please trim around the dotted lines if
possible. Each month, the class that wins will be
given a prize.
