January 2007 to present – Yard Manger, Brickfields Stud, Ascot, Berkshire
I was responsible for:
 Responsibility for 30 horses and their clients.
 Planning and managing feeding and all yard routines.
 Purchased products for the yard within tight budgets. Liaised with feed and bedding suppliers,
and ensured that stocks were always appropriate to the amount of horses currently stabled.
 Diary management, including the booking of lessons and organising staff members time off.
 Mentoring and training the four younger members of staff.
 Interviewing prospective employees, including placement of job adverts and managing the
recruitment process.
 Breaking in and initial training of the younger horses.
January 2003 – December 2006 – Travelling Groom, Adecco Dressage, Winchester, Wiltshire
My duties in this position included:
 Grooming at all national and international shows. Driving, packing the lorry, planning routes and
arranging all travel documents and veterinary health checks.
 Team GBR member for European Dressage Championships, Munich, Germany.
 Training younger members of staff so they were able to attend smaller competitions.
June 1999 – December 2002 – Groom, Southern School of Equitation, Southam, Surrey
My duties in this position included:
 Schooling, hacking, lunging of specified horses.
 General care of six dressage horses.
 Teaching varied standards of clients from beginner to group lessons.
