Course Requirements:
The American Heart Association strongly promotes
knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has
developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of
these materials in an educational course does not represent
course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such
a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course
materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
The course is now a one-day course for
providers and recerts together. Students are
responsible for much more information on
their own. You must complete pre-course
assessment and pass with a grade of 80 or
higher. Students not achieving 80 or higher
should not take the course until more
preparation has occurred (example: basic
rhythm course, review of pharmacology).
The pre-course assessment may be taken
multiple times. Pre-test located on website.
Helpful review information is on the
website listed in the book (rhythm and
pharmacology review). You must have
computer access to complete pre-course
materials and view study materials.
Students who cannot read rhythms will not
be allowed to take the course. Unlike in the
past where there was extra help, you are
now expected to be proficient with these
skills before registering.
There will be some video presentations in
the AM and practice stations in AM and PM
with testing beginning around 3:30 p.m.
