Dear Lake Mary Prep students and parents, Welcome to Summer Reading for the 2015-2016 school year. Once again this year, we are offering a list of choices for students in our English classes. Here at LMP, we are lifelong readers, and our goal is to foster a love of reading in all our students. Students going into ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade English will choose two books from each list for the grade you will be entering in August. If you will be a senior next year, please note that you must read Thomas Foster’s How to Read Literature Like a Professor. This is your only required summer reading. Students enrolled in the AP Language and Composition course must read all three books listed for that course. You may wish to take notes as you read as these are challenging tests. When you return to school in August, you will be demonstrating your understanding of the books through an in-class assessment.
