COURSE DESCRIPTION This laboratory course in anatomy and physiology will review the following topics: anatomical terminology, levels of body organization, organ systems, enzymes, cells and organelles, integumentary system, histology of bone tissue, the skull, the axial and appendicular skeleton, joints, muscle tissues, skeletal muscle of the body, nervous tissue, spinal cord, spinal nerves and reflexes, brain and cranial nerves. Practical #3 Lab exercises due by next lab session Schedule subject to change Attendance/Participation is required A&P I Lab 2 SUMMER 2013 TOURO COLLEGE SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES UNDERGRADUATE DIVISION COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Reading must be completed prior to the class for which it is assigned Student must come to class with all necessary material and books Students must participate in ALL laboratory activities Students must complete and hand in all lab exercises on time EVALUATION METHODS: Attendance/participation: P/F, (5%) attendance is required, see ATTENDANCE below Laboratory Grade: Exercise Grade 25% Practical Test (3) 75% FINAL GRADE = 50% Lecture, 50% lab A failing average in either Lecture or Lab will result in an F final grade for the course. Students are expected to attend each lecture and laboratory session on a regular and punctual basis and to complete assignments in a timely fashion. All students are allowed one absence. On the 2nd absence a paper/essay/research assignment (topic chosen by the instructor) must be completed. It must be handed in within two weeks or a reduction of the final grade by one-half grade is assessed. On the 3rd absence there is a reduction of one full grade. On the 4th absence the person receives an “F”. THERE ARE NO MAKEUPS TESTS FOR LAB EXAMS! THE STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING TRACK OF ATTENDENCE, GRADES, AND ARRANGING ATTENDENCE ASSIGNMENT IF NEEDED. You are expected to come to class prepared (having done the assigned reading) and ready to participate in class discussion.
